A dropped 911 call earlier this month led to an attempted murder investigation in Ontario and one suspect is still wanted in connection with the incident, police say.

Ontario Provincial Police said that on Nov. 13 shortly after 1 p.m., officers were called to a home on Mitchell Road in the Township of Cramahe, which is west of Belleville, in relation to a dropped 911 call.

One person was taken to hospital with serious injuries, OPP said.

Northumberland County resident Katlyn Atkinson, 34, was charged with attempted murder.

Police said Friday that they are still looking for an additional suspect in connection with the case.

Ottawa resident Serguei Petrov, 41, is wanted for aggravated assault and pointing a firearm.

Police said he’s known to frequent Northumberland County and Ottawa.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts was advised to not approach him and instead contact police.

But police said it’s believed the incident was isolated and there is no threat to public safety.

An investigation is ongoing.
