Driver in stolen Maserati runs from check stop, pair from Brampton and Ajax charged: police

Several people including a pair from Brampton and Ajax have been charged after police say the driver of a stolen sports car tried to make a run from a check stop.
The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday (Aug. 1) according to the Aurora OPP. Officers were working a roadside RIDE check stop when the driver of a Maserati tried to flee from police.
The 20-year-old driver from Scarborough was stopped by police and charged with multiple offences including dangerous driving, flight from police, possession of stolen property, drugs, and break-in instruments.
Three other passengers, including a 40-year-old from Brampton and an 18-year-old from Ajax, were also charged with possession of stolen property, drugs, and break-in instruments.
Police have not released the names of any of the accused.
