Driver from Mississauga charged for travelling 171 km/h

A 21-year-old from Mississauga is facing stunt driving charges.
Ontario Provincial Police took to Twitter to show a photo of a radar gun that reads 171 km/h.

The photo was taken on Hwy 401 at Trussler Rd. in Ayr, west of Cambridge. The posted speed limit is 110 km/h.
When the speed limit is at least 80 km/h, drivers travelling 40 km/h or more over the limit can be charged with stunting.
The penalty includes a licence suspension and vehicle impoundment. Drivers can also face jail time, a fine of up to $10,000, and a 100 per cent increase in their insurance rates.
