A man has died after his vehicle veered off the road and hit a boulder in Clarington yesterday.
Durham Regional Police say officers responded to a single-vehicle collision on Regional Road 20, east of Mosport Road, shortly after 2 p.m.
Investigators believe the vehicle was travelling westbound on Regional Road 20 when it left the roadway and struck a large granite boulder on the north side of the road.
The driver of the vehicle, a 61-year-old man from Oakwood Ontario, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash area was also closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
Authorities say the cause of the collision is still under investigation.
ColinWxChaser, a user on X (formerly Twitter), shared images showing the aftermath of what appears to be the accident which claimed the life of the 61-year-old driver.
The photos captured police at the scene alongside a white car with a dislodged tire and a nearby toppled stone post, suggesting a possible impact. However, police have not yet confirmed these details.
