Peel Regional Police stopped a vehicle Saturday evening and charged a man with breaking several rules of the road, including failure of removing snow from the car, having no proof of insurance or license and driving with expired plates.
On Saturday (Feb. 25) 2023, at approximately 11 p.m., police stopped a car covered in snow from attempting to enter the Highway 401.
After further investigation, it was revealed to police that the driver did not have his license or a snow brush to clear off the car. He also was not able to provide proof of insurance and his license plates were expired by a year and a half.
As a courtesy, police gave the driver a brush to remove the excess snow from his car and are urging drivers to clear off their vehicles before heading out onto the roads.
Police did not say what the exact charges were laid on the driver, however the officer on duty Cst. Bell-Morena tweeted, “It was [sic] an expensive lesson.”
