Driver attempts to ram police cruiser then flees on foot in Mississauga

Two Quebec men face charges after a driver attempted to ram a police cruiser in Mississauga.

The incident happened after police were called to check out a “suspicious vehicle” in the Godwick Drive and Atwood Lane area at 9:25 a.m. on Monday, Peel Regional Police say in a press release.

Police say when officers arrived the driver attempted to ram a police cruiser with the vehicle before the two occupants fled on foot.

A loaded 9mm Glock handgun and a bag of crack cocaine were found dumped, police say.

Multiple sets of fake Ontario license plates, and a vehicle key-programmer were located in the stolen vehicle, police say.

Two men from Quebec face charges in connection with the incident.

Woody Meky Francillon Saintelmy, 27, faces several firearm charges, possession of an automobile master key, possession of break-in instruments, possession of property obtained by crime, tampering with a vehicle identification number, possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking charges and two counts of failing to comply with a release order charges.

He was held in custody for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

An arrest warrant was issued for a second man, Christoffer Richard who is also 27 years old.

Richard faces the same charges as Saintelmy. He was also on two prior release orders and probation.
