Police have laid charges against a truck driver and a company after a trailer they were hauling “just fell off” while transporting a load in Caledon.
Shortly before 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, the Caledon OPP said on Twitter that officers had responded to a southbound stretch of Airport Rd.
Police say a driver was towing a trailer which disconnected from the vehicle, and the driver told police that the trailer “just fell off.” A picture from the scene shared by police shows a disconnected, loaded trailer pulled off to the side of the road with emergency cones behind it.
Both the driver and the company were charged and police are reminding drivers and companies to perform safety inspections or risk fines.
Police did not disclose the name of the driver or the company.
