One man was rushed to hospital in critical condition and another man was also injured in an overnight shooting at a Mississauga nightclub that’s seen its share of similar violent incidents this year.
Peel Regional Police received a call shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday morning (Sept. 4) about a shooting in the parking lot of HER Adult Entertainment Club, at 1325 Eglinton Ave. E., near Dixie Rd.
A short time later, police officers discovered two male victims inside a vehicle near Square One, at Hurontario St. and Robert Speck Pkwy., about six kilometres west of the nightclub.
One man was treated on scene while the second was taken to hospital in critical condition.
Meanwhile, back at the scene of the shooting, police say a stray bullet went through the front window of a restaurant in the same plaza as the nightclub. The restaurant was closed at the time, and no one was inside.
Investigators suspect there may be other victims in the shooting, the fifth such incident at the east Mississauga nightclub this year.
Police announced on Aug 12 that they are increasing patrols in the area of the nightclub to mitigate further incidents.
“The elevated police resources allocated to responding to calls for service at this establishment impact our ability to respond to other priority calls promptly,” police said.
Police warn the public of the safety risks associated with this location.
Witnesses and anyone else with information about the shooting are urged to call police at 905-453-2121, ext. 1233.
