Get ready for a break from gloomy weather and flurries as sunny skies are in the forecast this weekend for Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton and much of southern Ontario.
Last week may have seen snow and fog but temperatures are expected to hit double digits this weekend.
Forecasters with the Weather Network say it will feel like just 2 C for most of the week but are calling for a high of 11 C in Mississauga on Friday, leading into a few days of warmer weather.
Environment Canada was a little more reserved with its weekend predictions, saying Friday will see a high of 9 C.
Friday could see some rain in some areas with a mix of sun and clouds on Saturday with a high of 9 C but the warm weather won’t stick around for long as the end of the week will come with a high of just 3 C on Sunday, feeling more like -1 C.
Looking further into February, the end of the month is expected to be fairly cloudy with chances of rain and snow for regions closer to the Great Lakes.
And when looking even further down the line, Wiarton Willie —Ontario’s most celebrated groundhog— has predicted an early spring as he did not see his shadow on Feb. 2.
A few days of warmer weather will be a welcome break from what The Farmers’ Almanac is forecasting as a bitter-cold and flurry-filled start to the month.
