'Disgraceful' graffiti with Premier Doug Ford name spotted in Brampton

“Disgraceful” graffiti calling for the death of Ontario Premier Doug Ford has been spotted in Brampton.

A user on Reddit posted a photo of the graffiti on Monday, saying it was seen on Williams Parkway on the bridge over the Chinguacousy Trail.

The poster said they took their dog for a walk in the afternoon and saw it.

“It wasn’t there during this morning’s walk (around 10 a.m.), so this was done since then, in broad daylight,” the poster said.

“I don’t care about your politics, but calling for the death of a sitting politician is very stupid, and also a crime.”

The Reddit user said they reported it to the City via 311.

INsauga.com emailed the City of Brampton’s media department to see if they had information on the incident, but has not heard back.

But Gary Collins, the director of communications for Mayor Patrick Brown’s office, confirmed the graffiti was spotted on Williams Parkway, calling it “disgraceful.”

He said staff in the parks department were investigating and Peel Regional Police were notified.

The graffiti has since been removed, Collins said.

“I am not aware of any other vandalism. Our staff act very quickly when they hear (of it) or see it,” Collins added.

Brown didn’t want to comment on the vandalism, but is glad it was quickly cleaned up, Collins said.

A spokesperson for Peel police said Tuesday morning that they didn’t have any calls for service relating to the graffiti. INsauga.com has since followed up.
