There’s more winter weather on the way for Tuesday with snow in the forecast for Mississauga, Brampton, Toronto, and much of southern Ontario on Christmas Eve.
Environment Canada issued weather advisories on Monday saying parts of the province were in for up to 15 cm of snowfall, and it could continue to be a snowy morning with more snow on Tuesday for the Greater Toronto Area as well as Peel Region, Halton Region, Durham and Niagara.
The agency says to expect cloudy skies throughout the day with a 30 to 40 per cent chance of flurries and freezing temperatures of around -6 C with the windchill in the morning.
There’s also a chance of freezing drizzle in the early hours so drivers may want to take extra precautions when heading out on the road. The risk of freezing drizzle will return again overnight with a low of -8 C.
A freezing rain warning was issued for Sarnia, parts of Lambton County, Watford and other areas near the Canada-U.S. border shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
Residents and travellers across southern Ontario are being urged to remain cautious and prepared for winter driving conditions.
