It could feel as low as -30 C with a frostbite risk possible in some parts of the province as cold air will send temperatures dropping in southern Ontario.
Environment Canada says Saturday will see cloudy skies across much of the Greater Toronto Area and cold winds across the province.
In Toronto the daytime high will stay steady around -8 C, but will feel almost 10 degrees colder with a wind chill near
-17 C while it will feel only slightly warmer in Mississauga with a windchill of -16 C.
Things will get even colder into the evening with an overnight low of -23 C in Toronto.
But the mercury will drop to around -29 C with the wind chill in areas like Durham, Oshawa, Barrie, Orillia, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, leading to a risk of frostbite.
Frostbite generally occurs in body parts furthest from the heart like the hands, feet, nose and ears. Severe cases can cause permanent damage if it is not treated immediately and anyone who may be outside for extended periods of time should take precautions.
Saturday could also see more snow for some parts of Ontario on the shores of Lake Huron.
Environment Canada issued the snow squall warning shortly after 4 p.m. on Friday for communities near the U.S. border including Sarnia, Petrolia, Port Lambton, Oil City, and others.
Between 20 to 30 cm of snow could fall through to Saturday, the agency says.
Winter weather travel advisories were also issued for the London area, with Environment Canada saying lake effect snow bands are expected to develop over Lake Huron and may move inland after midnight, affecting areas near the lakeshore.
