Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a woman who was found dead at an east-end Mississauga church on Tuesday morning.

Peel Regional Police have released a composite sketch of the woman, who was discovered unconscious and not breathing at Mississauga City Baptist Church, at Cawthra Road and Bloor Street.

Police said they received a call just after 7:15 a.m. reporting that an older woman was found unconscious.

Responding officers in addition to Mississauga firefighters and paramedics arrived at the scene and “attempted life-saving measures,” police said.

However, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police didn’t provide any further details.

“We do not know the circumstances surrounding the cause of death at this time and are currently conducting our investigation,” Peel police said in an email to INsauga.com on Tuesday.

In a news release issued Friday, along with the composite sketch, police said the woman is believed to have been between 55 and 75 years old. They further describe her as Asian, 5-foot tall with a slim build, and black and grey hair.

She was wearing blue jeans, a pink and blue plaid shirt, beige jacket and black running shoes, police added.

Anyone with information that could help identify the woman and locate her family is asked to call police at 905-453-2121, ext. 1233, or Peel Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.

Police also want to speak with anyone who was in the area with dash camera footage on Sept. 17 between midnight and 7 a.m. on Tuesday.
