‘Dangerous condition’: Crews responding to large oil spill in Brampton

A major traffic hazard could affect some motorists in Brampton this afternoon (Mar. 19).

A large oil spill was reported on the curb lane of Hwy 50 north of Queen Street to Cottrelle Blvd.

Police received a call for the spill at 3:20 p.m.

Officers and Brampton Fire & Emergency Services are at the scene, while the Region of Peel has additionally sent a crew to respond to the spill.

The cause of the oil spill has not been confirmed at this time.

Residents should avoid the area until further notice.
