Customers ordered to the ground during bank robbery in Ontario: police

Customers were ordered to the ground during a bank robbery in Markham on Monday, police say.
York Regional Police said officers responded to a bank in the area of Markham Road and Highglen Avenue at around 5:30 p.m.
“Six suspects brandishing firearms entered and ordered patrons onto the ground,” police said.
Both the bank and customers inside were robbed, police said.
An employee was reportedly assaulted and was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Police said six suspects fled fled in a dark SUV “with a quantity of cash and cellphones.”
An investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information was asked to come forward.
