A frost advisory is in effect for parts of southern Ontario Thursday night.
The advisory covers Hamilton, Brantford, Dunnville, London, Simcoe, Woodstock and St. Thomas, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.
But there is also a risk of frost across the GTA, according to the weather forecaster.
The frost could damage fruit trees and vegetable crops.
Patchy frost is expected as temperatures drop to near the freezing mark again Thursday night, the advisory states.
“Cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas,” the advisory suggests. “Take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees.”
Frost advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.
