There’s a new car in the future for a couple from Brampton after they won a huge $250,000 lottery prize last month.

Brampton retiree Gabriella Pasquantonio says she’s been buying tickets for Lottario draw every Saturday since she was old enough to play, sometimes using the quick pick feature to choose her numbers.

She says at $1 per play it’s “the most bang for your buck” after winning a quarter-million dollar prize in November.

“At first, I wasn’t sure if I had won $250 or $2,500,” when she checked her ticket using the OLG app. “When I realized it was neither and that I’d won $250,000, I was confused, in shock, and in disbelief all at once,” she said while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings.

“I was speechless,” she added.

Pasquantonio’s husband was also at a loss for words.

“When I told him I’d won the jackpot, he was shocked and couldn’t believe it either,” she said.

The retiree from Brampton said the couple plans to use the windfall to pay bills, buy a new car and save for retirement.

“The timing of this win is perfect. It’s a great addition to the savings account,” she said.

Lottario tickets are $1 and the draws take place every Saturday. The OLG says it supports safe play and responsible gambling through its PlaySmart program.

The winning ticket was purchased at Extra’s Convenience on Vodden Street East in Brampton.
