Don’t panic if you get an automated call from Peel Regional Police over the next few weeks as police are looking to hear from residents about policing priorities in Mississauga and Brampton.

The Peel police strategic plan is due for an update, and police will be reaching out to residents and businesses for feedback on a wide range of topics from the public’s perception of police, equity, and officer conduct.

The survey also goes into how safe residents feel in their neighbourhoods, what crimes residents feel are on the rise, and how residents rate their interactions with officers.

The study is being run by Forum Research and will run from July 24 to Aug. 8 with residents and businesses randomly selected by telephone. There is also an online option that is open to all members of the public that is available in English, Punjabi, Urdu, Mandarin, Arabic, and Polish.

Automated phone calls will be made during the evening hours of 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and on weekends between 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Results from the survey will help Peel Regional Police develop a new official Strategic Plan, as the current plan is set to expire this year.
