Convince store robbery leads to arrest of man wanted by cops in Mississauga and Brampton

A robbery attempt in Markham has led to charges and the arrest of a man wanted by police in Mississauga and Brampton.

The incident happened on Nov. 21 around 5:30 p.m. when York Regional Police say a man entered a convenience store in the area of Bur Oak Avenue and 16th Avenue in Markham.

The man assaulted an employee and tried to steal various items from the store, but police say he failed in the robbery attempt.

The worker suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital while the attacker escaped on foot.

The next day, police said, they identified and arrested a suspect who was subsequently charged with multiple offences, including assaulting a peace officer.

The man was also wanted by Peel Regional Police in relation to “unrelated offences.”

York police say De’Angelo Jerome Howe, 32, of no fixed address, has been charged with robbery, fail to comply with probation order and assaulting a peace officer.
