Construction work closing lanes on a major street in Mississauga

A construction project is closing lanes on a busy Mississauga street.
Dundas Street East from Universal Drive, near the Etobicoke border, to Dixie Road is being re-paved following a watermain project, according to a notice from the Region of Peel.
The project to replace watermains started last summer.
The paving work is scheduled for Aug. 10 and 11 from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The City of Mississauga, under the noise bylaw, is allowing the work to start early to reduce the impact of paving operations on local businesses.
Road paving may be delayed due to weather conditions, as paving cannot take place when the ground is saturated with water, or the temperature is below 3 C.
Traffic may be reduced to a single lane during paving activities.
Work will be phased to minimize traffic disruption in the area. If traffic must be rerouted, there will be signs posted.
The Region of Peel asks people to be cautious in construction zones. When driving, walking, or biking through the construction area, be aware of your surroundings, watch for construction crews and other road users, slow down, account for delays, and consider other routes if possible, the Region of Peel advises.
