Lakeview DXE Club development

The developer of a new mixed-use condominium complex in southeast Mississauga will launch sales of the units starting in March.

The development, Lakeview DXE Club, is located on the northwest corner of Lakeshore Rd. E. and Dixie Rd. It features 478 units inside two mid-rise buildings (one eight-storey, the other 12-storey) in addition to six two-storey townhomes.

The units, which start in the low $500,000s, range in size from just over 420 sq. ft. to 1,336 sq. ft. and offer some 80 unique floor plans.

In total, there is 289,000 sq. ft. of residential space and 10,000 sq. ft. of ground-floor retail, in addition to public spaces and areas for public art.

According to the developer, Vandyk Properties, 80 per cent of the units are studios, one-bedroom or one-bedroom plus den, while 16 per cent have two bedrooms or two bedrooms in addition to a den.

The remaining four per cent feature three bedrooms or three bedrooms plus the den.

Lakeview DXE Club amenities include:

  • a wellness centre with sauna rooms
  • a golf simulator and putting room
  • a bicycle maintenance and tune-up area
  • an outdoor roof lounge with city and Lake Ontario views
  • a movie screening lounge
  • a social club
  • a games room
  • a raised central courtyard with multi-purpose outdoor workout structures that can double as play facilities for older children
  • path systems and routes for walking and running
  • a parkette with seating

The site, at 1345 Lakeshore Rd. E., formerly housed a car dealership.

Vandyk Properties also has developments nearby in Clarkson Village (The Craftsman) and Sawmill Valley (Windows on the Green).

The area around the Lakeview DXE Club features a number of new and planned residential and mixed-use developments.

The huge planned Lakeview Village project is just to the south, the Brightwater development in Port Credit is west of the area, Dixie Mall to the north is being redeveloped and there is development activity to the east in Toronto as well.

When first proposed to the City of Mississauga more than three years ago, plans for the Lakeview DXE Club development consisted of a four-to-12-storey condo building with 397 units and ground-floor commercial units.

Those plans changed, and were approved, further along in the process.

Also, a number of area residents voiced objections in the early planning stages.
