All things comics and gaming are on tap as the annual Mississauga Comic Expo arrives in town this weekend.

Organizers say the free admission, all-ages event invites visitors to “dive into a world of creativity with sketch challenges, workshops, cosplay, games and appearances by special guests.”

The expo, which “celebrates comic books, pop culture and fandom in all its forms,” takes place Friday and Saturday at the Hazel McCallion Central Library in the downtown core.

On Friday, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m., those who attend will enjoy a night filled with Dungeons & Dragons, board games and an “exciting escape room experience,” organizers say.

Saturday offers a program of workshops, cosplay, special guests and sketch challenges. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Admission both days is free and programs are available on a drop-in and first-come, first-served basis.

“Enjoy exciting cosplay photo shoots, try out tabletop board games and experience free-play sessions for video games,” organizers said in a news release on Thursday. “We’ll also feature presentations from special guests sharing their insights and stories.”
