Collisions in Mississauga and Brampton force road closures

Traffic at major intersections in both Mississauga and Brampton is tied up by two collisions that were reported to police in about a 20-minute span.
One is in Brampton. The other is in Mississauga. Each one involved the occupants of vehicle fleeing from the scene of a collision, in apparent violation of the Ontario Highway Traffic Act.
At 9:12 p.m. on Monday, Peel Regional Police were informed of a two-vehicle collision at Sandalwood Parkway and Airport Road in Brampton. There are road closures and the police are advising motorists to use alternative routes in order to avoid the area.
An occupant of one vehicle fled on foot. The Peel police say there are injuries to people involved in the crash.

Earier, at 8:54 p.m., two drivers collided in the intersection of Britannia Rd. and Latimer Drive in Mississauga, taking down a traffic light pole that ended up strewn across the roadway. Drivers are also being advised to take alternative routes.

As well, there are closures at Dundas St. and Neilco Court after a driver hit a pedestrian just before 8:30 p.m.. on Monday. The pedestrian has life-threatening injuries and the Peel police say the driver of the involved vehicle has remained at the scene.
