Two people face charges after police found cocaine in a coffee jar during a traffic stop in an Ontario town.

The discovery was made after police stopped a car on Saturday morning (Nov. 25) in the Town of Collingwood, OPP said in a press release.

OPP say the officer saw cannabis readily available to both occupants in the vehicle.

So, police searched the rest of the vehicle under the authority of the Cannabis Control Act.

The search turned up a Maxwell House coffee jar, which the OPP say had 51.7 grams of cocaine inside.

A 64-year-old man and 43-year-old woman, both from Collingwood, face drug possession charges.

OPP suggest people report suspected drug-trafficking or suspicious activity to the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or https://ontariocrimestoppers.ca/
