A popular dessert shop has closed one of its locations in Mississauga.

Supermoon Japanese Style Cheesecakes closed their shop at the South Common Centre, 2150 Burnhamthorpe Rd. W.

The shop is closed as of Tuesday, Supermoon said in a post on Instagram.

“After four wonderful years serving this community, we regret to inform you that our South Common store is closing its doors,” the post read.

“We want to express our deepest gratitude for your support and loyalty throughout these years.”

Several people commented about the closure.

“I loved that location! The workers were so friendly,” one person said.

“Oh no! I’m always coming there!” another said.

Supermoon was created as a place to get Japanese cheesecakes closer to home.

“We set out to create a bakeshop that not only served the best Japanese cheesecakes around, but also was a treat for all the other senses,” Supermoon says on its website.

Japanese cheesecakes are light, fluffy cakes made with cheese, butter, flour, milk, eggs and sugar.

In addition to the original cheesecake, Supermoon has flavoured cakes such as wild blueberry, strawberry swirl and mango creamsicle. The flavours change throughout the year. They also have smaller cakes and tarts.

The Streetsville Supermoon Cheescakes at 128 Queen St. S. unit 19, remains open.
