CLOSURE: Parts of park, Humber River trail shuttered until next year in Brampton

Crews are blocking off parts of a park and popular trail route until next year to deal with erosion along the Humber River in Brampton.
The closures are at Carabram Park in Brampton, near Torbram Road and Eagleridge Drive along the south bank of the river to deal with “ongoing erosion concerns,” the city says.
Construction will see a section of the Humber River Recreational Trail and part of Carabram Park closed until spring of 2025.
“These areas will be fenced off and a trail detour will be provided to minimize disruptions,” the city says of the project.
Signs will be posted in the park to guide visitors away from closed areas, and the city will also be sending notices to alert nearby schools, places of worship and residents.
The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) will work on erosion control and slope stabilization within Carabram Park and along the river.
The project is part of Brampton’s watercourse erosion program to address concerns while “ensuring safety and sustainability in the area,” the city says.
