A popular department store at Mississauga’s Square One has closed down permanently.
The mall confirmed that Japanese retailer MUJI shuttered its doors for good on Monday.
The store was known for its wide selection of clothing, home goods, decor and a variety of other products. The overall brand launched in Japan in 1980 before expanding internationally.
There are 800 MUJI stores worldwide that carry more than 7,000 items.
MUJI is famous for creating simply designed, yet highly functional products. They were very popular for their stationary products.
While there are no other MUJI stores in Mississauga, they continue to operate several locations in the GTA including in Toronto and Markham.
It’s currently unknown what store is expected to take over MUJI’s former location at Square One.
