An Italian restaurant in Mississauga has shut its doors for good after decades in the city.

La Parmigiana Italian Eatery, located near Tomken Road and Matheson Boulevard, confirmed to INsauga.com that it is now closed.

“We have decided after 28 years in the restaurant business situated in Mississauga to retire,” Tina Conte said in an email.

“It’s been a pleasure serving Mississauga patrons for all these years.”

The restaurant was popular with the community — scoring a 4.8 out of five rating from hundreds of Google reviews.

“I’m so very bummed,” one Reddit user said about the closure.

The website for the family-owned and operated business said it offered “delicious fully cooked meals” to eat inside at their hot-table style restaurant, or for take out.

It also offered catering for events.
