UPDATE: One dead and Highway 410 closed in Brampton

UPDATE: Police say a pedestrian has been pronounced dead and that the SIU has taken over the investigations.
Officials have not released details about the victim, including her name, age and place of residence.
There is major traffic congestion on Highway 410 in Brampton this morning after police shut down both southbound and westbound lanes for investigations.
As of 7 a.m., Peel Regional Police are assisting the OPP with an investigation, but details about the incident have not been released.
All southbound lanes on Highway 410 are closed at the Steeles Avenue exit. Additionally, all westbound lanes on Steeles Avenue are closed from West Drive to First Gulf Boulevard.
Drivers are asked to use alternate routes.
