Closure: Fatal crash closes all lanes on Hwy. 410 in Brampton, Oakville driver dead

An Oakville man has died in a wrong-way crash on Highway 410 in Brampton.
The collision happened in the southbound lanes of Highway 410 between Steeles Avenue and Highway 407 around 3 a.m. Wednesday (May 10), said OPP Sergeant Kerry Schmidt.
Police were called for reports of a vehicle travelling northbound in the southbound lanes of Highway 410 near Highway 407, Schmidt said.
Officers could not locate the vehicle but a short time later, police were called to a crash.
“A transport truck collided head-on with the vehicle that was travelling the wrong way,” said Schmidt.
A 30-year-old man from Oakville was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.
The man was the driver of the passenger vehicle that was travelling the wrong way.
All southbound Highway 410 lanes were closed between Steeles Avenue and Highway 407 as of 7 a.m. for the investigation.

Update: Police expect the southbound Highway 410 lanes to reopen around 10 a.m.
