Buffalo Wild Wings closes Ontario

Residents in east Oakville and west Mississauga have one less place to munch on some hot wings and watch the big game.

Buffalo Wild Wings, located at 2501 Hyde Park Gate, has closed for good.

The American sports bar franchise, known for a variety of wing sauces and big screen TVs, has also shut down restaurants in Vaughan, London, Stoney Creek and Ajax as well as Oakville.

Buffalo Wild Wing has over 1,200 locations in the U.S. and still has another restaurant in Mississauga (3015 Argentia Rd.), as well as in Barrie, Hamilton, Oshawa, Ancaster and Windsor.

The former Oakville location has already had the chain’s signature logo outside over the front doors removed and renovation work is already underway on inside for the next business moving in.

“Don’t know what it’s going to be,” said a worker who was digging away with a concrete chisel when asked what new business is moving in.
