Highway 410 southbound at Highway 401 had to be shut down on Tuesday afternoon due to flooding from heavy rain.
Highway 410 southbound from Brampton into Mississauga has reportedly been closed to traffic due to significant flooding on the busy route brought about by heavy rains on Tuesday.
According to reports from the scene, numerous cars were trying to navigate their way through the rising water on Highway 410 at Highway 401 entering Mississauga.
Some vehicles also became stuck in water on the Highway 401 ramp at Highway 410, reports indicate.
That section where the two main highways meet is expected to be closed until sometime on Wednesday, according to reports.
Sections of various highways and roads throughout Mississauga and Brampton have been impacted after torrential rain hit the area and much of southern Ontario on Tuesday morning.

OPP said via social media they have reports of “multiple locations across the GTA with highways flooding due to the heavy rain.”
Police said the ramp from Mavis Road to eastbound Highway 401 has been closed and is among many areas where flooding on the roadway has been reported.
According to reports from the scene near Highway 401 and Matheson Boulevard in Mississauga, a section of Matheson Boulevard has been flooded and the road is closed between Kennedy and Tomken roads.
