Classic rock and hip hop take over Burlington music festival

A diverse blend of music will take over Spencer Smith Park in Burlington tonight (June 14) at the Sound of Music.

The two main stages will feature a mix of styles that should appeal to a broad audience looking to enjoy a musical night out near the lake.

At the Access Storage West Stage, Chilliwack will be the headline performers bringing their classic pop songs to life.

Producing numerous Canadian and international hits including Lonesome Mary, Fly At Night, California Girl, My Girl (Gone Gone Gone) and Whatcha Gonna Do, Chilliwack has been awarded 15 gold and platinum certificates for their sales, hosted award shows, and has appeared on concert stages around the globe.

“Chilliwack’s reputation for consistently powerful shows continues, and with the live CD There and Back still winning over new fans and delighting long-time ones, Bill Henderson and the band are rocking like never before. Hearing the revitalized Chilliwack of today is like hearing those songs for the first time…all over again,” according to festival organizers.

At the TD East Main Stage, 4Korners will close out the night with his unique mix of musical styles.

“When 4Korners takes the stage, expect a high-energy performance like no other. a veteran of the international club scene, he has now turned his attention to creating the music he uses to move crowds,” say organizers. “His sound is a genre-bending blend rooted in hip hop with the Caribbean, rock, funk, pop and house influences of his upbringing. these minx with the sounds he continues to discover along his travels and what you get is a truly unique perspective on music.”

As a DJ, 4Korners has done it all. Whether it’s at top nightclubs in over 20 countries, or world-renowned events including the Cannes Film Festival, London Fashion Week, the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 or the Olympic Games, his eclectic sound has led to collaborations with Drake, Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, Puff Daddy, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez and countless others.
