Mississauga city council has approved a new project that will see six new semi-detached homes and 13 townhouse condos be built in Mississauga.

The project was brought forward by 2512461 Ontario Limited, which plans to build the new two- or three-storey homes at 6611 Second Line West (near Mavis and the 401).

It was officially approved by city council earlier this week on Wednesday, Dec. 8.

The project has been in the planning phase for several years now, having been presented to the city’s planning and development committee in December of 2018.

Several meeting were held in which residents were invited to offer their input on the new development.

Comments from the public included concerns of increased traffic, protection of wildlife, tree removal, and maintaining the neighbourhood’s character.

The new development is expected to house about 60 residents overall.
