Church youth leader faces sexual assault charges in Brampton, Ontario

A “youth leader and worship director” faces sexual assault charges in Brampton.

Between May 1 and Aug. 15, a 13-year-old met with a man on several times and the teen was allegedly sexually assaulted, said Peel Regional Police.

On Friday, police said officers arrested and charged Adam Watson, a 32-year-old man from Brampton with sexual assault and sexual interference.

Watson was held in custody and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton for a bail hearing where he was released on his own recognizance.

Watson has been working at a church in Brampton for approximately three years, police said.

Police believe there may be additional victims.
