Children’s chairs, door knobs, and shampoo recalled from Ontario stores

Health Canada is urging residents to inspect their households for commonly used products that could present varying degrees of health hazards. Here are the items being recalled this week from all stores in Ontario.

The high chairs were manufactured before September 1, 2016, with the following affected model numbers:

  • B709
  • B716

  • B731

  • B10147
  • B11068
  • B11069
  • B11401

The lot/production code is located on a sticker beneath the base and is presented in one of two formats.

Consumers should refer to the accompanying images for guidance on how to interpret each code.

In cases where the sticker is absent or the code is unreadable, it is advisable to consider the product as part of the recall.

The issue with the product is the bolts used to secure the seat of the highchair to the pedestal base can become loose and cause the seat to detach.

The company reported that 2,858 units of the affected products were sold in Canada between January 2012 to September 2017.

Risks: Poses a falling hazard.

What you should do: Immediately contact TOMY for a free repair kit. Consumers will receive a set of bolts and split and flat washers to repair the recalled highchair.

As of August 24, 2023, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.


Prime-Line Defender Security Glass Knobs

Defender Security- Model number E 2496

The product is being recalled because the glass knobs can break during installation or during normal use.

Risks: Potential laceration hazard.

What you should do: Discontinue using the products, and contact the company to receive a merchant gift card.

The company reported that 10,625 units of the affected products were sold in Canada between February 2022 to June 2023.

As of August 28, 2023, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.


Daylogic Dry Shampoo Original

Daylogic Dry Shampoo Original

This recall involves Daylogic Dry Shampoo Original 1.6 FL OZ (30 g) with item code RA27543 and UPC 011822275439.

According to Health Canada’s sampling and evaluation program the product does not meet the Cosmetic Regulations in Canada. More specifically, the cosmetics failed to meet the labelling requirements.

Risks: Poses a health hazard.

What you should do: Stop using the product and dispose of it safely according to the local municipal waste requirements.

The company reported that 7,344 units of the affected products were sold in Canada in December 2022.

As of August 24, 2023, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.
