Police have charged a Brampton trucker with careless driving following a multi-vehicle pile-up that snarled traffic on a busy Ontario highway.
The crash happened on Friday shortly before 8 a.m. in a construction zone on eastbound Highway 401 in Thames Centre, approximately 16 kilometres east of London.
Police say multiple transport vehicles were involved in the “chain reaction” collision, leading to a closed lane on the 401 for around an hour and a half.
Four trucks collided in the pile-up but no injuries were reported, police said.
A 51-year-old driver from Brampton was charged with careless driving in relation to the crash. Police have not released the identity of the accused.
Police said the lane has since reopened.
