Carjacking arrests Mississauga and Brampton.

Two teenage boys from Brampton face robbery charges after a carjacking targeted a woman and her luxury vehicle this past Friday at a busy shopping centre in Mississauga’s north end.

The woman was returning to her parked car, described by Peel Regional Police as a newer model Mercedes GLE, when she was confronted by two males at around 2:30 p.m. near Heartland Town Centre, in the area of Britannia Road West and Mavis Road.

The culprits demanded the woman’s car keys and “fearing for her safety, the victim complied,” police said in a news release on Monday.

The carjackers fled the scene in the stolen vehicle. The victim was not physically injured, police noted.

A short time later, robbery investigators found the stolen luxury car and made two arrests.

A replica gun and an edged weapon were recovered from inside the vehicle, police said.

Two boys from Brampton, ages 16 and 17, are each charged with robbery and wear disguise. They were held for bail hearings.

Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, their identities cannot be revealed.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators with the Central Robbery Bureau at 905-453-2121, ext. 3410, or Peel Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
