The city’s celebration of the diverse mosaic of communities that call Brampton home is back for another year of fun, food and music.

Brampton’s annual Carabram festival kicks off on Thursday, bringing together cultures across the city through food, entertainment and educational programs.

“Venues across Brampton are completely transformed to represent different cultures from around the world,” organizers say.

Guests will get to share in the authentic cuisine, music, dance and entertainment from different cultures, and each pavilion also features cultural displays for visitors to learn and engage with with different communities.

Now in its 42nd year, Carabram was started in 1982 to bring people together through understanding and appreciation for the multicultural nature of Brampton in a fun, family-friendly setting.

The festival has grown over the decades to include more community groups and a wider range of ethnicities across the city.

There’s an online interactive map to help guests find different pavilions and events across Brampton, including African food and fashion at the Century Gardens Rec Centre, Chinese culture at the Earnscliffe Recreation Centre and many more at the Century Gardens’ Pavilion of Cultures.

“Year after year these community groups come together to help Carabram achieve its goal of stronger cross-cultural relations, greater appreciation for diversity and to help us showcase the heart and breath of different cultures in their true, organic form,” Carabram says.

Carabram 2024 runs from Thursday to Saturday across Brampton. For more information or to purchase festival passports visit www.crabram.org.
