Peel Regional Police are currently on the scene of the third vehicle collision reported today (July 3), this one involving a downed hydro pole in Brampton.
Police received a call around 2:15 p.m. about reports of a vehicle having struck a hydro pole in the Bovaird Dr. West and Pertosa Dr. area.
Bovaird Dr. remains closed as the hydro pole and wires are down on the ground.
There are no injuries reported but drivers can expect delays in the area as the downed pole and wires are addressed.
Police ask drivers and residents in the area to avoid the scene as emergency crews continue to work.
This is the fifth report from Peel Regional Police recently about a collision in the region.
Last night, police responded to two separate, fatal collisions, one in Brampton involving a family with a baby and the other in Mississauga.
Today (July 3), three collisions have now occurred. Around 12:20 p.m. police attended the scene of a two vehicle collision in Brampton where one man was taken into custody for impaired driving.
And not long after, Peel Regional Police responded to a collision on Mavis Rd. in Mississauga where a woman was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Members of the Peel Regional Police remind drivers to use caution when roadways receive more traffic on holiday weekends and to never drive impaired.
