Car crash leads cops to loaded gun and charges for Mississauga man in Ontario town

A Mississauga man faces numerous weapons charges after a single-car crash in southwestern Ontario led police to the discovery of a loaded gun and the arrests of two people.
Ontario Provincial Police said officers were called to the scene of the collision at 11:30 p.m. this past Friday night on Culloden Road in Ingersoll, about 35 kilometres east of London.
Officers who responded to the crash, which involved a lone vehicle, seized a loaded gun and made two arrests after a brief investigation, Oxford OPP said in a news release on Tuesday.
No injuries were reported as a result of the crash, police said.
A 33-year-old Mississauga man is charged with:
- possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- carrying concealed weapon
- possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order (three counts)
- possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
- possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (two counts)
A 33-year-old London resident is charged with possession of weapon for dangerous purpose and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (two counts).
The accused individuals have been remanded into custody and will appear in Woodstock court at a later date.
The investigation is ongoing.
