Preview of winter camps, skating and recreation sign-up on now in Brampton

The Town of Caledon has pushed back the opening of the ice skating track in John Clarkson Park until the end of January.

The track was scheduled to open on New Year’s Eve in the park at 415 Dougall Ave., but the Town said it will take until Jan. 31 for the track to be ready for skaters.

“The goal is to have the track completed as soon as possible, however supply chain issues may slow the progress slightly,” the Town said in a release. “Once the track is completed, additional time is needed to create the ice surface and ensure it is safe for community use.”

The Town said rink openings are dependent on weather conditions, and staff are working to install ice chilling equipment at the permanent ice track.
