Bylaw officer injured in assault while on the job in Caledon, Ontario

A bylaw officer was assaulted while working in Caledon, Ontario.
A group of people assaulted the officer on Fallview Circle in Southfields Village around 2 a.m. on Nov. 24, OPP said in a press release.
The Caledon municipal law enforcement officer was injured during the course of their duties, police said.
Police said the officer was transported to hospital and the injuries were later deemed minor.
Town of Caledon Mayor Annette Groves condemned the assault.
“Officer health and safety is our top priority. No one should face the risk of violence when they go to work,” said Groves. “Please come forward if you have any information that helps OPP advance its investigation and charge those responsible.”
The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the Caledon OPP Major Crime Unit.
