On-ramp closed on QEW in Mississauga.
Lane and ramp closures on and around the QEW in Mississauga are commonplace these days as work continues on the bridge over the Credit River.

A busy QEW on-ramp in Mississauga will close to overnight traffic for two nights next week as work continues on the highway bridge over the Credit River.

According to officials with the QEW/Credit River Improvement Project overseeing the major bridge rehabilitation work, the on-ramp from South Sheridan Way to the eastbound QEW will be fully closed next Tuesday (March 5) and Thursday (March 7) from midnight until 5 a.m. both nights.

Project leaders say traffic disruptions are anticipated to allow for the overnight construction activities.

Temporary nighttime/overnight closures and other restrictions have been commonplace since 2022 both on the QEW and nearby roads due to the massive bridge project that began nearly three years ago.

More traffic disruptions are anticipated as work continues in the coming weeks and months. Night and weekend work along the 2.6-km stretch of the QEW from Hurontario Street to Mississauga Road, and beyond, is expected to impact traffic for the duration of the project.
