Burlington Fire Department alerting local residents of phone scam

Burlington residents getting a call from the local fire department, be aware it’s not them.

The Burlington Fire Department is letting local citizens know of a possible phone scam going around.

The scam involves a caller falsely identifying themselves as a member of the local fire department and then asking for donations.

The BFD says it never makes unsolicited calls to Burlington residents to raise money or donations of any kind.
