Crews won’t need to block off roads as paving work for a bridge replacement in Caledon has wrapped up ahead of schedule.
Peel Public Works says work has been underway to replace and rehabilitate the King Street bridge in Bolton since May, with the final stage requiring grading and paving at King Street East and Humber Lea Road.
The intersection was closed for construction on Thursday with Peel Public Works predicting more closures on Friday, but the Region now says no closures will be needed as work has finished early.
The new bridge will have an expected lifespan of 75 years with one in each direction, more space separating the traffic lanes from the sidewalk, wider sidewalks on both sides of the bridge, and pedestrian railings.
