Jamaica Island Cuisine recently opened up shop at Bovaird and Chinguacousy in Brampton.

The casual takeout joint boasts a variety of Jamaican dishes.

What’s on the menu?

Breakfast options, lunch and dinner options, and of course, some epic lunch specials.

More specifically, for breakfast you can expect such meals as ackee and saltfish, liver, kidney, porridge, and fritters. All of the breakfast meals here come with your choice of boiled dumpling, banana, yam or fried dumpling.

For lunch and dinner, you’ll find BBQ fried chicken, jerk chicken, curry chicken, curry goat, jerk pork, brown stew fish, and more, and you can choose a small or large size depending on your appetite or how many people you’re feeding.

Daily soups include chicken, manish water, chicken foot, and red peas, also in small or large.

As for lunch specials, Jamaica Island Cuisine boasts jerk chicken, fried chicken, or BBQ fried chicken with pop for just $7 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. daily.

And if you want the delicious eats to come to you, this place is also on Skip the Dishes.

This new west-end spot was actually opened by two entrepreneurial couples, aiming to serve authentic Jamaican food in Brampton.

“Come and savour the taste of the island,” reads the website.

“Indulge in healthy and appetizing home style cooking, served in a warm and friendly environment.”
