Brampton’s PAMA unveils June event lineup for adults and families

Residents in Brampton, Mississauga, Caledon and surrounding communities are invited to kick off their summer early with a range of events and activities planned this June at the Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA).
Guests of all ages can join PAMA and their community partners this June for a series of fun programs, ranging from art workshops to historical architecture.
Here’s what’s happening at PAMA:
Power Play: Hockey in Contemporary Art
Guest curated by Jaclyn Meloche, this exhibtion ends on Sunday, June 12. Don’t miss the opportunity to meet one of the artists, Liz Pead, in person and create art with her!
Connections Art and Book Club in partnership with Brampton Library
Thurs. June 2, 7 p.m.
Literature and visual arts connect in this distinctive book club. Join the discussion with PAMA and Brampton Library Staff with this month’s book choice: The Way the Crow Flies by Ann-Marie MacDonald.
Hockey Art Workshop with Liz Pead
Sat. June 4, 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1:30 – 3 p.m.
Recommended for ages 8 – 12, guardians must accompany children. Explore and create hockey art with artist Liz Pead, who is currently featured in PAMA’s exhibition Power Play: Hockey in Contemporary Art. Seek inspiration from a personal photo, your favourite team’s logo or even Liz Pead’s artwork that is made entirely out of hockey gear. Take your love of hockey and use a variety of materials to make your own mixed media art.
Watercolour Workshop with the Town of Caledon
Tuesday, June 7, 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. at the Inglewood Community Centre in Caledon
In honor of seniors month, Age-Friendly Caledon has partnered with PAMA to offer Caledon residents aged 55+ with a free watercolour workshop. Experiment with watercolours and create a painting using different techniques. Use traditional materials and mediums to create a variety of effects.
Watercolour Workshop with Caledon Library
Tuesday, June 21, 6:30 – 8 p.m. at the Southfields Village Branch Library in Caledon
Join PAMA and Caledon Library for a watercolour workshop for adults (18+). Experiment with watercolour and create a painting using different techniques, using traditional materials and mediums to create a variety of effects.
June Family Fun Activity: Architectural Masterpieces!
Saturday, June 25, 1 – 4:30 p.m.
Did you know that PAMA is made up of historical buildings? Drop-in anytime between 1 – 4:30 p.m. to find out more about the history of PAMA and create an architectural masterpiece.

The facility will also be hosting a number of exciting “pop-up” events on Thursday evenings, and Saturdays and Sundays throughout the month of June. More details on these events are expected soon on PAMA’s website and social media pages.
