A house in Brampton sold for more than $1.5 million is the city’s “highest sold semi.”
The property located near Dixie Road and Mayfield went for $1,595,000, and is move-in ready according to realtor Deepika Chouhan.
Chouhan said the record-breaking price tag is due to the property’s rentable basement suite which has two bedrooms and one bathroom, and a host of new features and amenities.
“There is not a single thing that needs to be done on the property,” she said.
“It’s freshly painted, all new pot lights, all new chandeliers, appliances are brand new, basement is done, two bedroom and a den with separate laundry – whoever’s going to go in, it’s totally liveable and rentable at the same time.”
She expects the new owners will rent the basement suite for around $2,000 per month.
Chouhan said the sale will close in March.
According to a recent report from RE/MAX last summer, a decline in the supply of single-detached homes in the GTA coupled with low mortgage rates increased demand among first-time homebuyers in the first half of 2021.
In Peel Region, Brampton saw the biggest spike in prices as the average price for a single-detached home rose 28.8 per cent from six figures in 2020 to $1,189,811 in 2021.
