Brampton youths in custody after threats and lockdown at local high school

Five Brampton youths are in police custody after reports of threats and a lockdown at a high school.
Peel Regional Police said on Monday (March 7) that they were notified about possible threats at Fletchers Meadow Secondary School on Chinguacousy Road and Botavia Downs Drive in Brampton.
A police spokesperson said reports of the threat came in around 2:20 p.m. and the school was placed on lockdown as a precaution.
Officers were dispatched to the school to investigate and shortly before 4:00 p.m., police said five youths had been taken into custody and the lockdown had been lifted.
A police spokesperson declined to comment on the nature of the alleged threats or who made the call to police.
No injuries were reported and police said they are still investigating the incident.
